Becky Accolla began her career in education in 2004 as a fifth grade teacher in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2009, she relocated to South Carolina and continued teaching fifth grade at Oakbrook Elementary in Summerville, where she supported students in both gifted and talented programs as well as inclusion classrooms.

After moving to Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Accolla taught fourth and fifth grades at Charles Pinckney Elementary and Carolina Park Elementary. In 2020, she advanced into school leadership, serving as the assistant administrator at Carolina Park and later as the assistant principal at Pinckney Elementary.

A two-time Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Accolla brings nearly two decades of teaching and leadership experience to her role as principal. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Radford University and earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The Citadel.

Mrs. Accolla lives within the Carolina Park attendance zone and loves being an active member of the school community. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, staying active, and relaxing at the beach.

Mrs. Accolla has shared that she is honored and excited to return to the Carolina Park community as principal. She believes Carolina Park is a special place, and she looks forward to working together with the school’s incredible students, staff, and families to continue building a school where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
